Dungeons and Dragons: The Animated Series is a side-scrolling action game developed in OpenBOR, in which players can control the cast of characters from the legendary Dungeons & Dragons cartoon series. The game pays homage to great arcade classics such as The King of Dragons and Shadows over Mystara, offering a gaming experience very similar to these.
Two very different game modes
In Dungeons and Dragons: The Animated Series, you can play in both solo and cooperative mode with several friends on the same PC. The Story Mode will allow you to play alone, controlling all the characters of the cartoon series, which you can switch between at any time. By pressing a key, you can quickly switch between Hank, the explorer; Bobby, the barbarian; Shiela, the thief; Presto, the mage; Diana, the acrobat; and Eric, the knight. The Arcade Mode, on the other hand, allows you to enjoy a much more traditional experience in which each player controls only one of the characters.
Unlimited action in a fantasy world
Anyone who has ever played a beat'em up game will instantly recognize the gameplay style of Dungeons and Dragons: The Animated Series. Normally, you will have to advance from the left to the right of the screen, confronting all the enemies you find on your way, of which there will be several. Fortunately, each character has two normal attacks and one special attack. By combining these three types of attack, you will try to defeat all kinds of monsters, from black dragons to orcs and even fearsome beholders. Of course, you will also have to face bosses and other special enemies.
Play with the keyboard or controller
As with all games developed in OpenBOR, configuring the controls of Dungeons and Dragons: The Animated Series is very simple. By default, you will be able to play using the arrow keys and other keys on the keyboard. However, you can also connect any available controller, either Xbox or PlayStation, and configure it to play the game. In this way, up to four people can play comfortably on the same PC.
Download Dungeons and Dragons: The Animated Series and enjoy an excellent beat'em up in its traditional style, with spectacular character design. It is a fan game that will delight Dungeons & Dragons fans, especially those who fondly remember the famous animated series of the eighties.
